Teaching in Redbridge

Redbridge prides itself on delivering high standards of education for all its pupils whilst offering rewarding careers to all education staff.

The borough has over fifty primary schools, comprising a mix of infant, junior and primary, along with fifteen secondary schools - all with sixth forms. There are also a number of all through schools, special schools and pupil referral units throughout the borough as well as a variety of local authority schools, academies and faith schools.

Schools in Redbridge are among the best in London for Ofsted ratings, adding to the borough’s popularity with families. In both 2011 and 2012, the borough sent more young people to university than any other borough in the country. Both GCSE and A-Level results are consistently higher than the country's average. A 2017 report by Trust for London and the New Policy Institute found that Redbridge has the highest proportion of 19-year-olds with Level 3 qualifications (equivalent to an A-Level) of any London borough.
